As a parent, the health and well-being of your children is never far from your mind. Children have many different issues affecting their health, so it is important to find a practice with well-trained and accessible doctors who can make visiting the GP a less frightening experience.

Developmental checks

Children grow and develop at different paces, and it is important to be aware of major milestones in their development. Our doctors can help assess and track their progress against a range of different criteria and can help advise treatment and provide access to paediatricians.

Minor Emergencies

Newport Family Doctors will always try to see any child that is sick or has a minor emergency, even when fully booked. If you are worried about your child, please speak with our nursing team who will be able to triage and help get your child seen as soon as possible.

Immunisations

Childhood Immunisations are extremely important protecting your children from a range of illnesses. We stock and provide all the recommended immunisations as per the National Immunisation Schedule. If you have any questions  about immunisations, we welcome the chance to discuss these with you. If you think your child has missed any immunisation or is up to date please notify reception prior to booking an appointment. Newport Family Doctors can add records online through the Australian Immunisation Register.

Please advise reception if you are bringing your child in for immunisations, it allows us to book the appropriate time with the nurse and doctor.
